A Week That Was by Denissa Revilla

What a wonderful week it has been!
Last week was our 15th Foundation Week Celebration. It was full of activities and fun. Teachers, student, parents and guests alike all enjoyed themselves.
For the first action packed day. Computer Quiz Bees were held for all levels. That afternoon, The Search For the Best Muse and Escort was launched. To the delight of high school students Ate Reina and Kuya Anthony (both from blue Team) won for the H.S. Department.
Our Wednesday activities were just more upbeat. Everyone met in Tropical Greens in the meaning. A rough make shift stage was prepared. Then the dancing began. All levels competed in different categories. Pre-school, Primary, Intermediate and High School students all presented their prepared production numbers. Many people surely enjoyed watching the Juniors’ and Seniors’ numbers.
As for the final day, I’m pretty sure that everyone was thankful that the temperamental weather cooperated. The motorcade went on as planned, with few glitches.
When we went back to Tropical, things got hung up till the afternoon, when the Cheerdance Competition started. After that the most awaited part arrived – the Awarding Ceremony. Former teacher Ediburgh presented the trophies, and closed the week.#

The 3rd Quarterly Exams

The next quarterly exams are next week and the students are cramming to get all their projects done before the exam date. The Seniors are having a hard time of doing the projects all on the same days of the week but still, there are some who can totally cope up with what is happening.
But after all that hard work, everyone knows it’s going to pay off.

Good Luck LAMCians!

LAMC Fieldtrip 2008

Early morning, at about 4am, our LAMCians get their selves ready for the school fieldtrip later that day. Moms, dads, babies, yayas, teachers students… Everyone was in a rush and excited to get on the bus. Those who didn’t know what bus they were assigned in ask the teachers in-charge of the operation.

A few moments later, the school started boarding their buses. But just as the faculty of the HS Dept., was checking the attendance, the 4th year class is still not complete. LAMC was already minutes past the said departure time. We won’t mention the student’s name for his privacy. T.Neri Edrosa, our School Registrar, decided that we should proceed with the departure to cope up with the given time.

First stop was Shell Gasoline Station where the passengers can buy their food because according to the guide, we won’t be able to buy anything to eat at our destination.

The first place we went to was the Nayong Pilipino Exhibit. Both of the branches of LAMC were there so the place was jammed with students. There was also another school, fieldtripping with us but the name was unknown to us. The place contained everything that was made from Pinoy hands and also replicas of different historical figures, buildings and legends.

Next was Air Force City where every one was to eat what they had brought or bought during that time. Some just preferred to stay inside the bus because it was cooler and more refreshing to eat. While LAMC Tagaytay was at Air Force City, LAMC Imus was at Paradise Ranch because it could not accomodate the school’s 2 branches. After lunch, LAMC Tagaytay proceeded to PURE Gold Duty Free Shopping.

The place was so hot that when the LAMCians were done shopping they immediately went back inside their buses to cool off. Shopping lasted until 2pm and then the next destination was at ClearWater Resort. This is the venue of the swimming of the LAMCians. The students were eager to cool off at the pool that they were already near the door before the bus even came to a complete stop.

Last was the Paradise Ranch. Here, the Aetas of Pampanga dwell mostly in. This place’s purpose was to help the Aeta Β children study by earning at least Php100,000 per month. Before there was only 10% of the Aeta children could study, but now it pushed up to 100%.

On the way there, one of the buses stumbled upon a huge bump on the rocky road. After the tour at the place, the driver noticed that there was something wrong with the bus. When everyone was about to get on, the driver prohibited the passengers due to the damaged suspension. It took a while for the drivers and his fellows to repair it. Adults are calling their homes letting their loved ones know what their state was. Teachers having a meeting about the situation. Students huddled together by the tree, waiting for the miracle. Then, minutes later, it was time to board the bus home.

Everyone came home safe but tired. Till next time! πŸ™‚
